cross-processing
Wrong chemistry development
Cross-processing is a photographic technique where film is deliberately developed in chemicals intended for a different type of film—typically processing slide film in color negative chemicals or vice versa.
The result produces unusual color shifts, increased contrast, and unpredictable saturation: The cross-processed look gave her portraits an otherworldly quality.
Digital editing software now simulates this effect.
