color wheel

Painter's spectrum chart

A color wheel is a circular diagram arranging colors by their chromatic relationships.

The standard wheel places primary colors equidistant, with secondary and tertiary colors between them.

Artists and designers use it to identify complementary colors (opposite on the wheel), analogous colors (adjacent), and other harmonious combinations: Check the color wheel to find what contrasts with orange.
