color negative
Reversed hue film
A color negative is photographic film that records images with colors and tones inverted—light areas appear dark, and each color appears as its complement.
Orange skin becomes cyan, blue sky becomes yellow.
The negative serves as an intermediate step; printing or scanning reverses the values to produce a positive image with natural colors.
She held the color negative up to the light to check the exposure.
