crashlanding
Uncontrolled forced touchdown
A crashlanding is an emergency aircraft landing that results in damage to the plane—distinct from a normal landing gone wrong.
The pilot retains some control, distinguishing it from a crash proper: The pilot executed a crashlanding in a field after the engine failed.
Figuratively, any arrival that's rougher than planned: My first day at the new job was a crashlanding.
