three-point landing
Wheels-and-tail arrival
A three-point landing is an aircraft touchdown where both main wheels and the tail wheel (or nose wheel) contact the ground simultaneously.
The term comes from the three points of contact.
It represents ideal technique in tailwheel aircraft and has become a general expression for any smooth, well-executed arrival or conclusion: She made a three-point landing on that job interview.
