counterblockade
Siege against besiegers
A counterblockade is a blockade imposed in response to another blockade—an attempt to turn an opponent's tactic back on them.
If one nation blocks another's ports, the second may establish its own blockade of the first's shipping routes.
The term appears mainly in military and naval contexts: The admiral ordered a counterblockade of enemy supply lines.
