coronally
In crown fashion
Coronally means in a coronal direction or plane—that is, dividing the body into front and back portions, or relating to the crown of the head or a tooth.
The term appears almost exclusively in medical and anatomical contexts: The MRI was sliced coronally to show the brain's structure.
In dentistry, it describes orientation toward the tooth's crown rather than its root.
