conch shell
Spiral sea shell
A conch shell is the spiral shell of a large sea snail, often used as a decorative object or, when the tip is cut off, as a horn that produces a deep, resonant sound: He blew the conch shell to call the children in from swimming.
The term is slightly redundant since conch already refers to the shell, but conch shell is the common form.
