Codominant describes two things sharing dominance rather than one prevailing over the other.
In genetics, codominant alleles both express fully in a heterozygote—neither masks the other, so both traits appear: AB blood type results from codominant A and B alleles.
In ecology, codominant species share prevalence in a community: oak and hickory are codominant in these forests.
