chapter headings
Book division titles
Chapter headings are the titles or labels that introduce sections of a book or document.
They typically appear at the top of a new chapter, often on their own page, and may include a number, a title, or both: Chapter 3: The Journey Begins.
Good chapter headings orient readers and can hint at what's to come without giving everything away.
