carrom

Indian pocket game

Carrom is a tabletop game originating in South Asia, played by flicking discs across a smooth board to pocket them—similar in concept to billiards or shuffleboard.

Players use a striker disc to knock lighter pieces into corner pockets.

The word also names a type of shot in billiards where the cue ball strikes two other balls in succession.

As a verb, to carrom is to strike and rebound: The ball carromed off the wall.
