carroming

Rebounding at angles

Carroming is the present participle of carom—to strike and rebound, like a billiard ball bouncing off a cushion or another ball.

The word extends to any ricocheting motion: The pinball went carroming through the bumpers.

Things carom off surfaces, off each other, off obstacles: He went carroming down the hallway, bouncing off walls.
