caplet

Coated oral dose

A caplet is a smooth, oblong pill designed to be easier to swallow than a traditional tablet.

The word blends capsule and tablet—caplets have the coated, slippery surface of a capsule but the solid form of a tablet: I prefer caplets to regular aspirin.
