call to the bar
Admitted to practice
Call to the bar is the formal admission of a person to practice law, specifically as a barrister in British and Commonwealth legal systems.
The bar refers to the physical railing separating the court from spectators; being called to it grants the right to cross that boundary and argue cases.
She received her call to the bar in 2019.
