cake-walk
No real challenge
A cakewalk is something accomplished with little effort or difficulty: Getting through security was a cakewalk.
The term comes from a 19th-century dance competition where enslaved Black Americans performed elaborate promenades, with the most stylish couple winning a cake as a prize.
The dance itself, also called a cakewalk, involved exaggerated strutting steps.
Because skilled dancers made the performance look effortless, cakewalk came to mean any easy task.
