cakewalking

Strutting with flair

Cakewalking is walking or moving with exaggerated ease, as if something difficult were effortless.

The term comes from the cakewalk, a dance originating among enslaved Black Americans that involved elaborate strutting—winners received a cake as a prize.

Now it usually describes breezing through a challenge: She went cakewalking through the interview.
