buskers
Sidewalk entertainment acts
Buskers are street performers who entertain in public places for tips—musicians, magicians, jugglers, mimes, or other entertainers working sidewalks, subway stations, and plazas.
The term is more common in British than American English, where "street performer" predominates.
To busk is to perform this way: She busked in the London Underground for years before getting her record deal.
