bubble ring
Diver's air halo
A bubble ring is a toroidal (doughnut-shaped) air bubble that forms underwater, spinning as it rises.
Divers and swimmers create them by exhaling carefully, and dolphins and whales produce them deliberately as apparent play: The dolphin blew a bubble ring and chased it to the surface.
The physics involves vortex dynamics—the ring's rotation keeps it stable as it ascends.
