brickfield

Where blocks cure

A brickfield is a place where bricks are manufactured—typically an open area with kilns, drying sheds, and raw clay deposits.

The term appears more commonly in British English and former British colonies than in American usage, where brickyard is preferred: The old brickfield had been converted into housing.
