brake rotor
Wheel's friction disc
A brake rotor is the flat metal disc that a vehicle's brake pads clamp against to slow or stop the wheels.
Also called a brake disc.
Rotors are mounted to the wheel hub and spin with the wheel; when you press the brake pedal, calipers squeeze the pads against the rotor's surface, converting motion into heat through friction.
The mechanic said my rotors were warped and needed resurfacing.
