brake discs
Wheel-mounted friction surfaces
Brake discs are the flat circular metal plates in a disc brake system that rotate with the wheel.
When you press the brake pedal, pads clamp against the disc to create friction and slow the vehicle.
Also called rotors in American English.
The mechanic said my brake discs were warped and needed replacing.
