brain dump
Unload your thoughts
A brain dump is an unstructured outpouring of everything someone knows or is thinking about a topic.
The term comes from computing, where dumping means transferring data wholesale from one location to another.
A brain dump might be notes jotted before a meeting, a long email catching someone up, or a session where an expert transfers knowledge before leaving a job: Let me do a brain dump before my last day.
