externalize
Make feelings visible
To externalize is to express or manifest outwardly what was internal.
You might externalize feelings by talking about them, or externalize costs by shifting them to others: The company externalized pollution costs onto the community.
In psychology, to externalize is to attribute internal conflicts to outside causes: He externalizes his anxiety as blame toward others.
The opposite of internalize.
