blockboard
Core-strip panel material
Blockboard is a type of manufactured board made by sandwiching strips of softwood between two outer layers of veneer.
Lighter and more stable than solid wood, it's used in furniture, doors, and shelving where a flat, warp-resistant surface is needed: The tabletop was constructed from blockboard with a walnut veneer.
