blading

Rolling on wheels

Blading is skating on inline skates—rollerblades.

The term emerged when inline skating became popular in the 1990s, distinguishing it from traditional quad roller skating: We went blading in the park.

Less commonly, blading refers to using a blade for any purpose, from ice skating to surgical cutting.
