bicycle kick
Upside-down soccer strike
A bicycle kick is an acrobatic move in soccer where a player kicks the ball while airborne, leaning backward with legs scissoring overhead—the motion resembling pedaling a bicycle.
It's one of the sport's most spectacular plays, typically attempted when the ball arrives too high for a conventional shot: He scored with a stunning bicycle kick from twelve yards out.
Also called an overhead kick or scissors kick.
