battery fire
Guns firing together
A battery fire is a fire caused by the malfunction, damage, or overheating of batteries—particularly lithium-ion batteries found in phones, laptops, electric vehicles, and power tools.
These fires are notoriously difficult to extinguish because the battery generates its own oxygen through thermal runaway, allowing it to reignite repeatedly: The battery fire in the warehouse kept flaring up for hours.
