tinder bundle
Ignition material nest
A tinder bundle is a loose nest of fine, dry material prepared to catch a spark and nurture it into flame.
Made from materials like dried grass, shredded bark, or plant fibers, the bundle provides the air circulation and surface area needed to coax an ember into fire: She transferred the coal from the bow drill into her tinder bundle and blew gently.
