Welsh cake surface
A bakestone is a flat stone or iron plate used for baking bread, oatcakes, or griddle cakes over an open fire or stovetop.
The term survives mainly in British regional dialects, especially Welsh cooking traditions: She cooked the Welsh cakes on a bakestone.
Sometimes called a griddle or planc.
