badge readers
Credential verification devices
Badge readers are electronic devices that scan identification badges to grant or deny access to buildings, rooms, or systems.
The badge—typically a card with a magnetic stripe, barcode, or embedded chip—is swiped, inserted, or held near the reader: Employees tap their badges at the reader to enter the building.
Badge readers log entry times, making them useful for both security and attendance tracking.
