auto-correct

Typing error repair

Auto-correct is a software feature that automatically fixes perceived spelling or typing errors as you write.

It catches genuine mistakes but also notoriously replaces intended words with unintended ones, creating embarrassing or nonsensical messages: Auto-correct changed "coming" to "cuming" in my text to grandma.

The term also works as a verb: My phone auto-corrected "duck" to something inappropriate.
