slackness

Lack of tension

Slackness is the quality or state of being slack—loose, not taut, or lacking in effort and diligence.

A rope may have slackness if it isn't pulled tight.

More often the word describes negligence or laziness: The project failed due to slackness in oversight.

In Jamaican dancehall culture, slackness refers to sexually explicit or vulgar lyrical content, often contrasted with more conscious or roots-oriented music.
