amination
Adding nitrogen groups
Amination is a chemical process that introduces an amine group (nitrogen bonded to hydrogen) into a molecule.
The reaction is fundamental in organic chemistry and pharmaceutical manufacturing, where it creates compounds containing nitrogen: Reductive amination is used to synthesize many common drugs.
The reverse process is deamination.
