aglets
Cord tip casings
Aglets are the small plastic or metal sheaths that wrap the ends of shoelaces, preventing fraying and making them easier to thread through eyelets.
The term extends to similar tips on drawstrings and cords.
The aglets on my favorite hoodie finally cracked off.
