Ideas arriving late
Afterthoughts are ideas or considerations that come only after a decision has been made or an action taken.
The word often implies something was overlooked or given insufficient attention: Safety was an afterthought in the original design.
An afterthought can also be something added belatedly: The postscript read like an afterthought.
