acted-out

Portrayed through gesture

Acted-out describes behavior that expresses unconscious emotions or impulses through actions rather than words.

In psychology, acted-out feelings are those discharged through conduct—often disruptive—instead of being processed consciously: His acted-out aggression got him suspended.

The term also describes something performed or dramatized: an acted-out fantasy, an acted-out scene from the play.
