Whitefield

Great Awakening evangelist

Whitefield is a surname, most notably associated with George Whitefield (1714–1770), an English Anglican cleric and evangelist who was a central figure in the Great Awakening religious revivals in Britain and colonial America.

His dramatic preaching style drew massive outdoor crowds and influenced Methodist and evangelical traditions.

Whitefield is also a place name for several towns and neighborhoods in England and the United States.
