White Queen
Chess board's lady
The White Queen is a chess piece—the queen belonging to the player with the white pieces.
In Lewis Carroll's *Through the Looking-Glass*, the White Queen is a scatterbrained character who lives backward in time and remembers things before they happen.
The term sometimes describes a benevolent but ineffectual authority figure, or in fantasy contexts, a magical ruler associated with good or winter.
