Waco

Central Texas city

Waco is a city in central Texas, situated on the Brazos River between Dallas and Austin.

It's home to Baylor University and the Dr Pepper Museum.

The name often evokes the 1993 siege at the Branch Davidian compound outside the city, when a standoff between federal agents and a religious sect ended in fire and mass casualties: The Waco siege shaped militia movements for decades.
