USB key
Pocket data carrier
A USB key is a small portable data storage device that plugs into a computer's USB port.
Also called a flash drive, thumb drive, or memory stick.
The key in the name refers to its size and shape—roughly that of a house key—and to its function as a key that unlocks access to stored files: I keep a backup of my documents on a USB key.
