Curved bike fastener

A U-lock is a bicycle lock shaped like a rigid U or horseshoe, with a removable crossbar that completes the rectangle.

The hardened steel construction resists cutting better than cable locks, making U-locks the standard for urban cyclists: I always carry a U-lock when I bike downtown.

Also called a D-lock.
