Tom Thumb
Tiny fairy protagonist
Tom Thumb is a tiny hero of English folklore—a boy no bigger than his father's thumb who has adventures despite his size.
The name applies to anything miniature: a Tom Thumb variety of lettuce, a Tom Thumb golf course.
P.T.
Barnum made the name famous through his exhibition of Charles Stratton, a man of short stature billed as General Tom Thumb.
