Tintoretto

Venetian Renaissance painter

Tintoretto was a Venetian painter of the Italian Renaissance, born Jacopo Robusti around 1518.

The nickname means "little dyer," from his father's trade.

Known for dramatic lighting, bold compositions, and energetic brushwork, he painted vast canvases for Venetian churches and the Doge's Palace.

His style bridged Renaissance classicism and the emerging Baroque.
