The Munsters
Comedic monster household
The Munsters is an American television sitcom from the 1960s featuring a family of benign monsters—Frankenstein's creature, a vampire, a werewolf—living ordinary suburban lives, oblivious to their own strangeness.
The humor derives from the inversion: they consider themselves normal and find ordinary humans peculiar.
The show spawned films and revivals, and "the Munsters" sometimes describes any amusingly ghoulish household: Halloween decorations made their place look like the Munsters'.
