T-nut
Pronged threaded insert
A T-nut is a fastener with a flanged base and a threaded barrel that projects perpendicular to it, forming a T shape when viewed from the side.
The flange sits flush against one surface while the barrel passes through a hole, allowing a bolt to be threaded in from the opposite side.
T-nuts are commonly used in woodworking and furniture assembly where you need strong, removable connections: The climbing wall uses T-nuts so holds can be repositioned.
