Sonny Bono

Sonny Bono was an American entertainer and politician, best known as half of the 1960s pop duo Sonny & Cher.

Their hit "I Got You Babe" defined the era's sound.

After their variety show ended and the couple divorced, Bono entered politics, serving as mayor of Palm Springs and later as a U.S. congressman until his death in a skiing accident in 1998.
