Smoky Mountains
Misty Tennessee highlands
The Smoky Mountains are a mountain range in the southeastern United States, straddling the border between Tennessee and North Carolina.
Part of the Appalachian chain, they take their name from the bluish haze that often shrouds the peaks—a natural fog from the dense forests.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is America's most visited national park.
We're driving through the Smokies this fall.
