Skrull
Green-skinned alien mimic
Skrull refers to a fictional alien race in Marvel Comics, shapeshifters who can perfectly mimic any humanoid's appearance.
First appearing in 1962, Skrulls serve as recurring antagonists whose ability to impersonate anyone creates paranoid "who can you trust?" storylines.
The twist revealed she'd been a Skrull the whole time.
The concept has spread beyond comics into broader pop culture shorthand for hidden infiltrators or impostors.
