Skagway

Alaskan cruise port

Skagway is a small town in southeastern Alaska, historically significant as the gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush.

In 1897–98, prospectors flooded through Skagway to reach the Chilkoot and White Pass trails into Canada's Yukon Territory.

Today it serves primarily as a cruise ship port and tourist destination: We stopped in Skagway on our Alaska cruise.
