Western New York tribe

Senecas is the plural of Seneca, a member of the Seneca Nation—the largest of the six nations of the Iroquois Confederacy, historically located in present-day western New York.

The Senecas were known as the "Keepers of the Western Door," guarding the westernmost territory of the confederacy: The Senecas controlled much of the Finger Lakes region.
